July WAS my Bitch!

At the beginning of the month, I set some fitness goals for myself and here’s how I did on them: 

  • Exceed 1,000 fitness minutes for the month - Clocked 1,341 minutes!
  • Train for the Sparkpeople Virtual 5K race - still in progress.  I can do it anytime this week. 
  • For 7 consecutive days, do at least 50 minutes of cardio, plus targeted strength training circuits - DONE!
  • Workout for at least 2 consecutive hours to build endurance - DONE!  I took a bootcamp class followed by a Zumba class!
  • Move reps from 12 to 15 per set - DONE!
  • Jog 30 minutes without stopping - I think I have to carry this one over.  My knee has been hurting a bit, so I’ve been taking it easy with the treadmill. 
  • Do 5 REAL push-ups - DONE!  And I can now do 35+ knee push ups!
  • Do 10 or more Burpees  - I just knocked these out tonight!. 
  • Do side planks for 30 seconds - DONE!
I even did some other things this month:  
  • Tried a yoga class for the first time. 
  • Did a bootcamp class for the first time. 
  • Tried several new Zumba classes. 
  • Began the 30 Day Shred!
I take my measurements on Saturday, so I hope the hard work is paying off!  Can’t wait to see what August has in store for me.  

So true.  I stepped on the scale this morning to see 2 pounds gained.  There is NO WAY that’s true unless I’m building muscle or something.  I have been eating clean and had some great workouts this weekend.  Green tea for evening dessert even instead of fro yo!  That damn thing is lucky I didn’t throw its ass out my window this morning!
