At the beginning of the month, I set some fitness goals for myself and here’s how I did on them:
Exceed 1,000 fitness minutes for the month - Clocked 1,341 minutes!
Train for the Sparkpeople Virtual 5K race - still in progress. I can do it anytime this week.
For 7 consecutive days, do at least 50 minutes of cardio, plus targeted strength training circuits - DONE!
Workout for at least 2 consecutive hours to build endurance - DONE! I took a bootcamp class followed by a Zumba class!
Move reps from 12 to 15 per set - DONE!
Jog 30 minutes without stopping - I think I have to carry this one over. My knee has been hurting a bit, so I’ve been taking it easy with the treadmill.
Do 5 REAL push-ups - DONE! And I can now do 35+ knee push ups!
Do 10 or more Burpees - I just knocked these out tonight!.
Do side planks for 30 seconds - DONE!
I even did some other things this month:
Tried a yoga class for the first time.
Did a bootcamp class for the first time.
Tried several new Zumba classes.
Began the 30 Day Shred!
I take my measurements on Saturday, so I hope the hard work is paying off! Can’t wait to see what August has in store for me.
Happy Saturday! I started with a 30 minute dance around the house with music blaring. Thank goodness the neighbors didn’t see me. Then, Day 7 of the 30DS. I was feeling adventurous, so I headed to the local YMCA for a Zumba class. Silvia, the instructor, tailored the program today toward International Dance. It was so fun I didn’t even mind all of the difficult moves!
Having a challenging day today at work and with some family issues. A few months ago, this stress would driven me to eat chocolate and other assorted nastiness. Now I just want to work out. I’m grateful for that change in perception.
I used to drink diet soda ALL THE TIME. I cut back to a couple a week, then nothing. I haven’t had one in months. Then I remembered i had a few in the panty and I thought I’d give it a try. It seriously tasted horrible. I took two sips and poured the rest down the drain. Yuck!
This photo about sums it up! After doing Day 2 of 30DS, my muscles were aching for a break. But I needed to get in some cardio. I got a free pass to the local YMCA, so I decided to cash it in and try one of their fitness classes tonight. The instructor was a small Latin gal that had tons of spunk. I had a blast!
So true. I stepped on the scale this morning to see 2 pounds gained. There is NO WAY that’s true unless I’m building muscle or something. I have been eating clean and had some great workouts this weekend. Green tea for evening dessert even instead of fro yo! That damn thing is lucky I didn’t throw its ass out my window this morning!
